Håmmårsbukta – Light, History, and Stillness by the Fjord

🌅 New post: Sunset & Stillness at Håmmårsbukta, Skatval.

Today I shared a photo and a short story from an evening at Håmmårsbukta — a quiet bay on the Skatval peninsula with a rich history and an incredible view over the Trondheimsfjord.

With the golden hour light fading and the water calm, I set up for some long exposure shots — and the results felt soft, peaceful, and full of quiet motion.

This spot was once part of WWII coastal defenses, but today it’s a beautiful, open space for walking, thinking, and photographing light as it shifts.

Steinvikholmen – Golden Light and Quiet History by the Fjord

📸 New on the blog: Steinvikholmen at Sunset

Just posted a short story and photo series from Steinvikholmen, a quiet historic site by the fjord in Skatval.
I visited during golden hour, and the old castle ruins lit up beautifully as the sun dipped behind the mountains. Calm water, warm light, and timeless textures — a perfect scene for landscape photography.

📷 Just explored Gråbrek Mølle outside Stjørdal – a forgotten little mill that’s perfect for long exposure photography! Easy access, beautiful flowing water, and loads of atmosphere. Great spot to practice or just enjoy the calm.

Nyhavna/Ladehammeren in Trondheim

Nyhavna/Ladehammeren in Trondheim

Evening light at Høvringen, overlooking Nyhavna.
As the sun sets over the fjord and the blue hour settles in, the industrial past and the future of Trondheim meet across the water. Nyhavna, once a closed-off harbor area, is now transforming into a vibrant waterfront district. From Høvringen, you get the perfect view – where history, nature, and change come together in the most stunning light.

Fredrikstad city by night

Fredrikstad city by night

A new photo post on tronder, org:
Fredrikstad – from industry to urban charm.

Over the past decades, Fredrikstad has transformed. The once-industrial riverfront has given way to modern apartment complexes, a scenic promenade, and a vibrant nightlife.

There’s something refreshing about heading out with just one lens, capturing moments without the weight of a full camera bag. Maybe the scenes I found that evening weren’t screaming «shoot me,» but the joy of observing and thinking in compositions made for a rewarding urban street photography session.

Hammersbukta – Skatval
