Brekka – An Abandoned House Full of Questions and Golden Light

🏚️ New post: Brekka – An Abandoned House with a Story Untold

I’ve driven past this old house in Grandmarka near Sparbu more times than I can count — always wondering what kind of life once filled its rooms.
This time, I stopped.

Shot a few frames during golden hour, and the light brought out every texture and crack like a whisper from the past.
Sometimes, the places we pass by are the ones that stay with us the most.

Steinvikholmen – Golden Light and Quiet History by the Fjord

Steinvikholmen – Golden Light and Quiet History by the Fjord

📸 New on the blog: Steinvikholmen at Sunset

Just posted a short story and photo series from Steinvikholmen, a quiet historic site by the fjord in Skatval.
I visited during golden hour, and the old castle ruins lit up beautifully as the sun dipped behind the mountains. Calm water, warm light, and timeless textures — a perfect scene for landscape photography.

«The sky lit up in fiery shades of red and orange – nature’s last performance before night falls. Always keep your camera close… magic often comes after rain.»

Chasing the Northern Lights – and finding the perfect foreground

That evening, alerts from aurora apps started coming in, and my son called: «Dad, have you seen the northern lights? You need to get out and shoot!» I had plenty of photos to edit already, but a few more couldn’t hurt.

Rather than just capturing the sky, I wanted to include a strong foreground – something to anchor the magic. I ended up visiting three locations around Stjørdal: Korstad in Skjelstadmark, and two spots near Banggrenda. Tripod in hand and wide-angle lens (16–35mm) mounted, I headed out.

Do I regret it? Not for a second. 😎

Solnedgang på Velvang

Solnedgang på Velvang

A new photopost on Tronder.org:

Velvang – a peaceful paradise for photography

Just 30 minutes from town, Velvang on Skatval is one of my favorite spots for photography. There’s no need to walk far – inspiring scenes are everywhere you look. The golden hour, especially in spring and autumn, brings beautiful sunsets and waves rolling in along the shoreline. With a tripod, long exposures, and both wide-angle and zoom lenses, the creative possibilities are endless.

Some call it landscape, others seascape – I just call it peaceful and fun. Bring your camera (or just your phone) and head to Velvang before sunset. You won’t regret it.

New update on www.tronder.org: Sunset over Munkholmen – seen from Ladehammeren

Ladehammeren (Høvringen) offers one of Trondheim’s most scenic views, especially in spring when the sun sets directly behind the historic island of Munkholmen. With its dramatic light and wide view over the fjord, this spot is perfect for capturing peaceful, golden-hour landscapes. Easily accessible by foot or bike, it’s a must-visit location for photographers and nature lovers alike.
