Kristiansten Fortress was constructed after the great city fire of 1681, as part of General Johan Caspar de Cicignon’s new defense strategy for Trondheim. The fortress has seen military use through several historical events — including the Napoleonic wars and World War II.

Today, it stands preserved with thick stone walls, old cannons, and a commanding presence that brings the past to life. It’s a location where history and photography meet.
